Affordable Housing Projects

IMG_4267.JPG

For more than 20 years the Detroit Catholic Pastoral Alliance has been working on a two fold mission: first, working with the community to develop a community plan for the Gratiot Woods neighborhood and secondly preserving and creating affordable housing on the eastside of Detroit.

Our efforts in affordable housing program began over 20 years ago, when a member donated a family house on Melbourne Street.  Through the help of many friends we were able to rehab the home and eventually sold it so it could be home for a family of three.

Since that time the Alliance has moved its housing program to a 22 square-block area on the east side of Detroit called Gratiot Woods.  Anchored by Nativity of Our Lord Church, the Alliance has invested more than $18.6 in the Gratiot Woods Community since 2006.
